To commemorate our 1-year anniversary, my wife and I took a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2013. Most people tend to think of Vegas as the bright lights of The Strip and endless hours at the blackjack table and slot machines. We typically think of it as a place to sleep and a jumping off point for all the interesting places nearby.
A good friend (and photographer) lives in nearby Henderson and is always up for a road trip and an adventure. He showed us the Bighorn Sheep that have taken over Boulder City's Hemenway Valley Park (photo below), Hoover Dam and then on to an evening shoot at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, just west of Vegas.
It was a gorgeous day as you can tell from the photos. The color in the rocks and sky just couldn't have been a better contrast and I didn't adjust or edit the color in Photoshop - it was all just naturally blue, red and yellow everywhere. Hope you enjoy, cheers!
