There is no basement in the Alamo. Trust me. I asked. It was the first thing I did.
But no trip to San Antonio is complete without a visit to the Alamo and the city's scenic River Walk downtown! I managed to cover both of those items on the 'to-do' list right away last week on a business trip to Texas, which is good because the rest of the week was crazy busy!
Southern Hospitality continues it's tradition and the people of San Antonio were more than welcoming and I had an absolute great time during my brief stay. Here are just a couple photos of my trip, mostly by the way of my work pattern, of the Alamo, the city's iconic skyline and needle, a few neighborhood shots (including Tommy Lee Jones' house) and of course the River Walk during the very quiet morning and during it's peak hours at night. Cheers!
An absolute beautiful building that saw some awful things.
The hotel to the left is owned by Hilton and is said to be in the top three haunted hotels in the country! Floors 7 and 9 once served as a morgue.

Not sure what is housed in this building, but it looked too good not to be photographed with the Lone Star State flag waving in the wind.
The home of Tommy Lee Jones as seen through his very nice gate, lol.
This view is north of Boerne, TX (Pronounced Bernie) looking toward Hill Country.
An aerial drone shot of a San Antonio suburban neighborhood. I liked the way the road curved around and the FedEx truck drove right into the shot.
I was lucky enough to have access to the interior of this San Antonio home, west of the outer loop, to shoot some photos for an upcoming magazine at work. The aerial drone photos were able to capture the sunset and the beautiful surroundings.
The sound of rushing water should give anyone a good clue they are headed in the right direction of the River Walk.
There were so many restaurants and shops along the River Walk that it would take days to eat and shop your way through the canal.
The two things I noticed right away was the abundance of both vegetation and wildlife along the River Walk. Lots of ducks.
Loved the reflection of the restaurant umbrellas in the calm water.
So many trees really provide a nice solace when walking through the River Walk.
Quack!
So many trees and mature trees! What a gorgeous space - it's no wonder it's a 'must-see' spot in San Antonio!
The River Walk has many boats that let you ride the waves through downtown San Antonio. This is a 30-second exposure as the boat passed underneath of the bridge.
Another boat streams by during a long-exposure along San Antonio's River Walk.
The artwork and lights add a fun flare to downtown San Antonio. I loved being downtown and enjoying the warm Texas weather!
