I had the pleasure of photographing the B1G Men's Soccer Tournament last weekend. The level of competition in the B1G is already very high, but you could tell that the tournament added another level of excitement to play on the field.
The tournament was played at Grand Park in Westfield, IN and it's the perfect facility to host such a well-run and respected event. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did shooting them! Cheers!
The start of the Indiana University vs Wisconsin semi-final.
Soccer players slide more than pee wee kids playing baseball. Makes for some fun collisions.
Arms and legs seem to go every which way about every two minutes during a soccer match.
Kicking, with power, while running at full speed. That's quite a feat!
A header toward the goal!
I love the looks on all three men's faces in this frame! Especially the referee.
Soccer players seem to spend an inordinate amount of time laying in the grass.
It's amazing to me that soccer players don't suffer more leg injuries - look at that extension!
Faces. The faces in these photos are intense!
Maryland GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLL!
These two fought about as hard as you can for an inflatable ball.
The fields at Grand Park were in immaculate shape and I loved the mow pattern on F1 - the championship field. The bright green grass made for great contrast against the blue sky.
It's the phantom leg from nowhere!
I had a headache just thinking about how many times these guys use their heads instead of their feet or legs to move the ball around the field.
Header!
Another header!
I loved the pattern that the light poles made in the background against the foreground of signage of the participating teams at Grand Park.
Westfield, Indiana's water tower can be seen looking south as Maryland and Michigan State battle.
