Zion National Park in Utah is on the top 10 list of most-visited National Parks. It's easy to see why after visiting there three years ago about this time of year. I recently went looking for a photo I had of a turkey to post online and when I finally remembered where it was - I figured I might as well put up a blog post about Zion! Turkey photo found below. Happy Thanksgiving!
If you look closely, you can see a deer frolicking in the meadow.
The vegetation is still apparently lip-smacking good in November!
This scene isn't far off the beaten path and features some naturally-made and some man-made structures.
It seems as though every rock formation had it's own personality - from color and contrast to texture and vegetation.
A field of wildflowers.
The sun was setting and cast a beautiful hue on the rocks.
A path into the woods.
The water was rushing by on the hike back into the canyon.
The abundance of wildlife is ridiculous despite all the visitor traffic.
Red Rocks.
Here be, three little tree.
Gobble! Gobble!
It was a beautiful day for a hike!
The sunset was even better!
Special thanks to Rick Vierkandt for driving and being our tour guide and putting up with all my stops in the trail for an extra iPhone photo (or 60). AND for taking my "About Me" page photo with the turkeys!! #GobbleGobble
